Join Sheffield Church Action on Poverty’s Urban Poverty Pilgrimage

Sheffield Church Action on Poverty, part of the national ecumenical Christian social justice charity committed to tackling poverty in the UK, is staging its 17th annual Urban Poverty Pilgrimage on Saturday October 17.
The two-mile-long pilgrimage will visit faith-based initiatives combating poverty and homelessness in the Highfield and Heeley areas of Sheffield, finishing at St Wilfrid’s Centre, the Catholic charity which is marking its 35th year of providing support for homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded adults in Sheffield.
The pilgrimage starts from Highfield Trinity Church, Holland Place, at 9.30 am. It will visit Heeley City Farm, which provides support for children who struggle in traditional school settings, and passes the St Vincent de Paul Furniture Store, which redistributes recycled furniture and household items to people who are disadvantaged by poverty, deprivation and other issues.
