About the Formation and Mission Department

Our mission: is to encourage and help anyone and everyone to learn more about and develop a deeper understanding of the Christian faith. 

We do this through:

• Courses and qualifications such as the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS) and the Loyola Certificate in Pastoral Ministry.
• Supporting Church initiatives such as the Year of the Word: God Who Speaks.
• Public talks and workshops on theology, Church teaching and Christian living.
• Resources such as the Hallam Pastoral Centre library and on-line materials.
• Making use of the skilled lay, religious and ordained people engaged in this work in the diocese and beyond.
• Working with deaneries and parishes to develop learning and resources at the local level.
• Representing Hallam at regional and national bodies.
