Monsignor Desmond Sexton

Mgr Desmond Sexton is currently the parish priest of St Marys and St Gerard’s in Rotherham with an oversight of Blessed Trinity, also in Rotherham. He is interested in the visions of mission and parish work as proposed by the authors Fr Michael White in ‘Rebuilt’ and Fr James Mallon in ‘Divine Renovation’ and in the work of a number of authors reminding us of the rich treasure of Catholic Spirituality that guides us towards living with the mindfulness of Christ.
Mgr Sexton became a Trustee in 2006 and was appointed Vicar General for the Hallam Diocese in 2015. In his spare time he likes to walk the hills, listen to music, read a good book and celebrating a Barnsley win.
