On Saturday 9th July, we celebrated the ordination of Henry Woodhouse, a young Doncaster-born priest from the St. Peter-in-Chains, Doncaster, congregation.
Priests are usually ordained in St. Marie’s Cathedral, Sheffield so it was a huge honour for the St. Peter-in-Chains parish, the city of Doncaster and the Hallam Diocese to host such a wonderful occasion.
The Bishop of Hallam, Right Reverend Ralph Heskett, C.Ss.R, presided with over 30 priests in attendance. Dignitaries from the local community were invited and the church was full! Visitors from across the region, and beyond, joined us and stayed to celebrate afterwards on the lawn. It was be a truly historic and joyous event.
