Following the diocesan phase of the synod on synodality between November 2021 and March 2022. The National Synthesis Team has been working on the National Synthesis document, reflecting on the reports received, discerning the main themes that have emerged and collating these to give a picture of the synodal process in England and Wales. This document was presented to the bishops of England and Wales.
The bishops had gathered this week to reflect on the main themes that have emerged from the listening conversations across the country. The meeting was very fruitful and they are now engaged in drafting their discernment and reflection on what has been heard through their own national synthesis, and the various diocesan reports and organizational submissions to the bishops’ conference.

Please continue to pray for the bishops in this work, and for the work of the synod itself as it moves into its regional phase for the Universal Church, and the continuing reflection on the themes that this journey has brought to the fore with regard to the mission of the Church in our own dioceses, national organisations and parishes.
