Responding to The Psalms – July 2023

A project of the Spirituality Committee of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales

“So if the Bible contains a book of prayers, we are to learn from this that the Word of God includes not only the words he wants to say to us but also the words he wants to hear from us, because they are the words of his beloved Son. It is a wonderful gift of the grace of God that he should teach us how to commune with him in words, We can do this by praying in the Name of Jesus Christ. The Psalms have been given us for the very purpose of teaching us to pray in that Name.“

We have used the Sunday Responsorial psalm to offer a focus for reflection during the week ahead for yourself or share with others. You could note your own thoughts as a possible personal journal.
