Police Officer Representative for Hallam Trustee Safeguarding Committee

The Diocese is looking to appoint a representative from the Police (serving officer) to join and support the Risk Assessment & Management Group (RAM) of the Safeguarding Committee. This is a volunteer role.
The Safeguarding Committee is accountable to the Trustee Board who have overall responsibility and oversight for safeguarding in the Diocese. If you are interested in the role and/or know someone who might be then please ask them to contact the office for more information.

As a member of the RAM Group, you will be expected to:

  • Attend 6 meetings per year (held bi-monthly on Tuesday evenings 4.30-5.15pm) at the Pastoral Centre, (or via zoom if unable to attend in person)
  • Understand safeguarding best practice
  • Input on safeguarding issues
  • Facilitate engagement and participation

It is not essential for RAM Group members to be Catholic.  However, as the role involves working collectively with others (many of whom are Catholics in good standing with the Church), the successful candidate will be expected to uphold the values and principles of safeguarding within the Catholic Church in England and Wales.

The position will be subject to completion of an application form and an interview with the Chair of the Safeguarding Sub-Committee and members of the Safeguarding Team.
