Centre for Ecclesial Ethics at the Margaret Beaufort Institute aims to offer theological support to individuals and communities involved in the synodal process. The Centre will be formally launched online on 2 December, 6 pm. As part of the launch Prof Professor Jim Keenan SJ (Boston College) will deliver a 40 mins lecture entitled ‘A Different Church is Possible: embracing an ecclesial ethics of vulnerability’. The lecture will explore how an ecclesial ethics of vulnerability, that is predicated on the risk-taking vulnerability of God, can offer a pathway of renewal for a Church that has been wounded by both clericalism and hierarchicalism, and enable it to become the different, attentive and vulnerable Church that God calls it to be in service of a fragile world emerging from Covid.
