Laudato Si – Praying with Creation

Hello everyone,

Minnie Fraser, Diocesan Environmental Lead for Hexham and Newcastle, would like to draw people’s attention to the residential retreat ‘Laudato Si’ Praying with Creation’ to be held at Minsteracres Retreat Centre in Northumberland 14th – 16th April.  For details, please see the Minsteracres website https://minsteracres.org/retreats/  Minnie will be part of the team delivering this retreat.

St. Joseph’s Dinnington and St. Vincent’s Crookes continue working on their plan to develop parish activity based on Live SImply principles- Living Simply, Sustainably and in Solidarity with others. St. Francis’ Crosspool S10 are also investigating the Live Simply Award. Do get in touch if you want further information.

For inspiration on building a parish community, see the Pope’s message for parishes this month – it is readily accessible on the Diocesan website, just click on the front page carousel.

And finally, Ash Wednesday is on the 22nd of this month. Many of us will begin Lent by receiving the sign of the cross in ash on our forehead, a reminder we shall return to dust and that human beings and the earth are closely linked. Could we make a pledge to give up or to do something this Lent that will help us care for Creation?

with trust in the Holy Spirit,

Columba and Angela.
