42nd Hallam Diocesan Walsingham Pilgrimage

The 42nd Hallam Diocesan Walsingham Pilgrimage took place on 22 July when Bishop Ralph led 105 pilgrims including priests and deacons from the diocese.

Pilgrims travelled by coaches from Barnsley, Sheffield, and  Bassetlaw Deaneries. Despite the drizzle, the weather did not inhibit the intrepid pilgrims who processed along the Holy Mile to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham where Holy Mass was celebrated.

The keynote of the pilgrimage was Joy.

The Joy of being on pilgrimage to England’s Nazareth with our Bishop gathered in communion and in community with each other as a diocese. Together we honoured Our Lady of Walsingham under her new title White Rose of England. The pilgrims prayed for their own intentions and those of others and especially for the success of the Synod.  It is the hope of the Pilgrims that the fruits of the Synod will be evident for next year’s Walsingham Pilgrimage.
