An Opportunity for New Beginnings as Loyola Certificate in Pastoral Ministry comes to an end

Over the past six years, students from the Hallam Diocese have joined others from dioceses across the north of England to participate in a course in Pastoral Ministry delivered by Loyola University in Chicago. This arrangement has now come to an end and the current cohort of students will be the last ones to complete that course.

However the ending of this arrangement has provided us with a new opportunity for us to consider how we help people to respond to their Baptismal calling and engage in pastoral ministry. Colleagues from across these same northern dioceses have been working together with Liverpool Hope University to provide a replacement course which will begin in the next academic year starting in September. As with the Loyola course, the diocese will be sponsoring people who are involved in Pastoral ministry in parishes across the diocese. This is an opportunity to give thanks for the great work that Loyola has done and look forward to new opportunities with Liverpool Hope University. Keep an eye out for details of the new course.
