Many people welcomed the opportunity to join the St William of York parish Memorial Mass.
Memorial cards were written and with candles were left before the altar, along with the Parish Memorial record.
As Mass started, the names of deceased family members were read out and brought to mind and prayer. Also prayed for were those who were killed in wars, past St William of York parish priests and those who may be ‘forgotten’.
Father John reminded us that in Mass we share the communal joy of the table of the Word and the table of the Eucharist. After Mass we then enjoyed a shared meal in the parish centre.
This Memorial Mass has become a much loved annual event, at this significant memorial time of year, when we pray for the souls of our faithful departed.
