For over 30 years LIFE was very active in the Diocese in a very practical way. There were LIFE Care Centres in Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster with support Groups in Chesterfield, Rotherham, Stockbridge and Worksop.
LIFE, had always offered practical support by way of accommodation, and baby clothes and equipment. The Care Centres offered ‘drop in ‘ pregnancy testing and counselling either crisis pregnancy counselling or counselling for those suffering following an abortion. Over the years thousands of women and girls have benefitted from LIFE,s help and many babies have been born who might not have been.
However over a number of years all of these services have gone ‘online’ and can be accessed via the website www.lifecharity.org.uk

Pressures for an abortion can often be relieved by being able to talk through those pressures in confidence with an understanding empathetic counsellor or trained skilled listener!
Similarly, the trauma of an abortion can be unravelled with compassion and support, leading in time to healing and forgiveness.
Both men and women access this service.
The ANNUAL DIOCESAN COLLECTION – supporting Life´s services takes place in parishes, on the weekend 18/19 March. Donations can also be made online.
