HALLAM DIOCESAN SAFEGUARDING COMMISSION
Saturday 18th February 2017 – 10.30am-1.00pm
Centre Library, Annunciation Parish Centre, Chesterfield, S40 4SD
How do we respect the rights of adults who may be vulnerable and actively seek to ensure that their voices are heard?
The Mental Capacity Act provides a framework to support those who struggle to make their own decisions and communicate their needs because of mental health issues or learning disabilities. It applies to volunteers and families as well as professionals.
Bob Levesley has taught social workers, nurses and psychologists about this legislation for over 10 years. In this workshop, he will try to help you think about what this might mean for supporting parishioners who are vulnerable.
The session will be for volunteers in ministry who visit the sick and housebound, who provide practical and emotional support via SVP, for all Eucharistic Ministers and Clergy/Religious.
Facilitator: Bob Levesley – Adult Social Care Trainer Sheffield and Local Safeguarding Rep, St Francis
